Revelation 17:14 NIV
They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers."
Here are some pictures from today... but I added two of me pregnant with my other two children. I definitely look bigger this time... and probably lower. What do you think? I don't feel any bigger.. I felt huge with ALL three!
You can see Carley was happy when we first went outside, but by the end she was really mad cause both Mallori and I were busy and she wanted help on the swing.. but it was also past nap time. Needless to say.. she was asleep in less than 5 minutes!
I had an appointment about a week ago... was measuring 37 1/2 cm/weeks since the baby is low (but not engaged) She didn't think baby was huge she thought 7 1/2 to 8 lbs ...but well... NOW if I go another week.. I'm guessing it will easy be another 9 lb baby. Heart beat was very strong! Hopefully my next post will have pictures of our new little man!
I last talked to Sean on Monday evening. He had tried Sunday, but we were at the lake and I missed his call. It had been exactly one week since I talked to him. We had never gone that long before! He said he had a really nice Drill Sergeant who snuck him into an office to let him make the call. Sean is the only one who's been able to make a call because of his circumstance with a new baby coming. He wanted to see if I had Stetson yet and to make sure I was going to call Red Cross to have them notify him. It was so great to hear his voice and know that he's doing well. He had a couple horrible stories about some other men and women. But said that he hadn't drawn any attention to himself yet. I guess as soon as he stepped foot off the bus the yelling began. All he could think was "I love my JESUS" to drown out all the vulgar. They are telling everyone, it doesn't matter what your recruiter told you, or what job you have, you are ALL going to war. I am just telling myself that they have to be mentally prepared for the worst. So they all have to believe that. This is the ONLY training they get for fighting and must be ready at all times. They even have to carry their M-16 rifle with them wherever they go.. even to shower or use the rest room. He was excited to tell me that when they were issued their rifles they had to take them apart and put them back together as fast as they could. Sean was one of the two fastest guys out of 45 men and women. He did it in 2 min. 16 seconds the first time and even faster the next day. He said that was pretty fun. They don't seem to have much down time... in the evening he has about 15 or 20 minutes before bed to shower, read and maybe write a letter. I've received one letter so far.
They stand a lot.... his knee is still bothering him. He's thinking about having it looked at.. he said he can run fine but when they stand in formation for so long it hurts and if he has to squat or anything like that it's pretty painful. Please pray for healing on his knee.
I have comfort in knowing that the Lord is with him and he is so strong, courageous and firm in his faith. He knows he'll do well.. and so do I! I've wondered if we made the right choice.. but I have no doubt in my mind now that even IF he has to go to war, the Lord will take care of him. Sean will fight this war for Jesus, with Jesus at his side!
Psalm 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."
Surely he will save you from the fowlers snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousnd may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes and see
the punishment of the wicked.
If you make the Most High your dwelling-
even the Lord, who is my refuge-
then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
for he wil command his angels concerning you to guard
you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not
strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
"Because he Loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledes my name.
He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble.
I will deliver him and honor him.
with long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
It's only been 9 days since I said goodbye to Sean... I'd been able to talk to him each day until Monday night. Now I don't know if or when I'll be able to talk to him in the next 9 weeks! I knew this may be difficult but it's still harder than I thought It would be... with a new baby coming and two small children, my emotions are running high. I'm a little stressed out but maybe I just neeed to learn to relax.
Colton hasn't been taking many naps with all the commotion around, but after playing all day with his Uncles he goes down good at night and both are still sleeping well through the night. Something I am soooo grateful for, especially since I'll have a new born waking up to nurse very soon! I didn't bring a bed for Colton so I'm looking for a toddler bed for him, he's been sleeping with me but of course I can't have him rolling and kicking around when I'm trying to nurse Stetson. Carley is sleeping in the pack and play. I also have a co-sleeper with a nightlight on it that should work nice for Stetson but will soon be needing a bassinet, maybe I can use Katrices!?!?!? Last night my sisters and I went to Grand Forks, ND to see a movie and do some shopping. I spent 100.00 at Target.......ughhh money doesn't last long when your buying diapers and other necessities. I did buy Carley a really cute pair of Mary Janes because we lost her other ones somewhere in California....but these ones are brown vs. the black that she had... so they'll go cute with anything. I also got myself a nursing tank... that is super comfortable that I am so excited about... wow the little things in life that excite a MOM! I figured it would be more comfortable than wearing a bra during the first week or two after Stetson comes. I remember with Colton having to change nursing pads every 30 minutes when my milk came in.... so... yeah, there will be no more bra-less nights for awhile! okay..maybe not every 30 minutes but I remember waking up wet with milk many times! Not so bad with Carley, maybe my body will adjust quickly to his needs and it wont be as bad.. but at least I'll be prepared and comfortable. hmm.. one probably wasn't enough! :p I have an appointment tonight to see how the baby is doing... I don't feel much like it's going to come any minute. I'm starting to think it will be late just like my other two. My due date is only 9 days away.. so technically it could come at any time... but we'll see! I'll let you all know how the appt. goes tomorrow! My sister Katrice is 14 weeks pregnant and is having her first appointment tonight as well. My parents will have 5 grandchildren by end of February... how crazy :-)
Here are just a few pictures of Sean and I the night we had to say goodbye! It's only been a few days and it feels like weeks. I've been able to talk to him a little every day, since he hasn't actually started boot camp. He is still really busy but the first day seemed like a week for him because he had to stand around so much between getting x-rays and eye exams etc... he has 60 people in his group or platoon and there are several others.. so must be hundreds of solders there on that one base. They are confined to one area on the base until Tuesday when they will move to wherever the actual training starts. They have been in formation though everywhere they go and everytime someone messes up they ALL have to either do push ups or things like hold their stack of books out in front of them until their arms burn. Tonight he beat two guys arm wrestling and of course they were like "boy, you are stronger than you look" Last night they were doing some sort of hand stand against the wall in their dorm and Sean fell on his knee...(on conrete) it's been hurting and swollen, so please pray that his knee heals quickly and he doesn't have to say anything about it, or that they don't notice it... Colton and Carley don't seem to miss daddy yet... but they are so busy playing with my brothers and sisters. Every night when we go to bed Colton asks me questions and I explain best I can about how daddy is in the Army and we are staying on the ranch for awhile until we can go be with him. Colton tells me that when he gets bigger he want's to go in the Army too and learn how to fight like daddy :-) It's pretty cute!
So, no baby yet.. still lots of Braxton Hicks and back ache, hopefully it will be soon.. but I suppose little Stetson will come when he is ready. Off to bed.... more soon... keep posted!
Here are a few pictures from right before Sean left for basic training.... I have more pictures coming of the last night I saw him in Sacramento. My mom and sisters (Jessica, Whitney and Kaylee) flew out here last Saturday morning, we dropped Sean off at Sgt. Catlet's office in Placerville on Sunday and then drove on to Modesto to stay the night with our friends, Les and Stephanie. We drove back on Monday night and had dinner with Sean at the Cheesecake Factory. He didn't actually fly out until Tuesday morning. While we were there waiting for our food we opened up the sealed envelope with our baby's ultra-sound picture and were pleasantly surprised to see that it is another boy! His name is Stetson Travis King! Actually, we both had a hunch it was a boy... we are just so excited and of course it really didn't matter to us .. we would have loved another girl as well. Since I'm not sure I'll be able to talk to Sean much at all during his BCT we thought it would be fun to find out together! I'm only 35 weeks in this picture... the last picture I posted was wrong.. my midwife saw me and confirmed that my ultra-sound due date is September 4th. So in the last picture I was probably two weeks earlier.
I'm really looking forward to having another newborn. But at the same time I'm not looking forward to having Stetson without Sean there. I'm sure it will go fine... I know I can do it... I'll just miss him a lot. Sean is such a hands-on Dad tending to me and the babies. But most of all I guess I'll just miss HIM!
Thank goodness I'll have my mom and sisters to help... it will be really fun. I finally got a new video camera, the new Sony Handy Cam 60 GB hard disc drive... I'll be able to post videos now of the kids and am looking forward to making a nice birth video since Sean is missing the birth. No worries, it wont be on YOUTUBE!
Well, the Lord has really blessed us... it seems with all the chaos the last couple of weeks with moving out of our house and selling everything... He worked it out perfectly. We had so many friends that helped with moving the house and doing all the dirty work of clean up , etc... we are so thankful. I have to say I think my husband has the best friends in the world!!! He stayed up several nights with NO sleep trying to get that house ready to move... and on top of that he had to be online finishing some courses so that he could join as an E2 instead of an E1... which he finished on Friday morning at 4:45 am......took the tests Friday morning at 9 am. Most of last week I didn't even see him. He passed all that and also passed his PT test. I just know he'll do awesome! For not having much time to run and work out.. he finished his run with two minutes to spare! So, back to what else the Lord has done.... he got my family out here safe! Our friends, John and Debbie took our last horse and John is going to finish breaking him so that he'll sell... John is also helping Sean pick up his last three cords of firewood to sell. We sold our Toyota Turcel to their son, Stephen. Our storage shed is packed FULL, and last but not least I finally got a new mini-van! We actually had room for Mom and I and all five kids plus all of my stuff! I can even see out my back window!
Last night we stayed in Spearfish, SD.. the kids got to go swimming and we ordered pizza to our room. I'm up now cause Carley woke up and I was too awake to sleep. We are packing up and getting back on the road within the next hour. Should be back home on the ranch tonight! Looking forward to seeing everyone! I'll be posting pictures from our trip soon! Little Stetson is ready to see his new world.... I am having a lot of strong braxton hicks... my feet are swelling a lot...for the first time... (the car ride I'm sure and salty snacky foods) but he is very low and causing a lot of discomfort! But still I have to say.. I love being pregnant and feeling a little life inside of me.. nothing short of a miracle!
Oh, one last thing.. Sean just found out that with so many dependants, we qualify for off-base housing with more bedrooms and a higher housing allowance! Praise the LORD again! Until next time~Sheila
Here I am at about 34 weeks pregnant.. I know I haven't posted any for awhile so I am much bigger than I was last time. This baby I swear moves more than either of my other two.. I feel like it never sleeps!!!!!!! I hope he/she changes habits before coming into this world :-) Colton and Carley love to give the baby kisses.. yes my tummy has seen some slobber!
Sean leaves for Basics in 6 weeks... I can't believe how fast the time is going. Our house still hasn't sold. I think the last couple bailed on us... we haven't heard from them in over a week. YIKES! But I am still trusting that something will come up in just the nick of time. Sean is done working with CC Myers and is just doing some side work right now. He'll have time to finish some things on the house now so maybe it's all good. The kids and I are enjoying our last weeks and months in the California sun... our friends have been inviting us to their pool. Colton is learning to swim and Carley wont be far behind as she is so daring and I can hardly hold on to her in the water. She wants to do EVERYTHING by herself!
Sean took Colton to the Placerville speedway and he had a blast... as you can see! We've gone again since then on July 4th... even Carley had fun But she got kinda scared when it was time for the fire works.
Here are some pictures from the El Dorado County Fair in Placerville. It was very HOT but Colton had a ton of fun. We just went on a few rides and looked at all the animals. He also enjoyed the Fire Engines. He is really into Fire Engines and trucks lately. He even got to see a house burn down last week with Sean and got to see Helicopters and Fire Trucks in action. He's getting really good at telling us all his stories.
I am amazed at how fast this pregnancy is going! I'm already in my third trimester and will soon have three children. Either two boys and a girl or one boy and two girls.. hmmm.... either way we are so excited to have three children so close in age. I'm looking forward to all the adventures we will have. I imagine they will all be very close to each other and have lots fun times amongst all the fights and hair pulling too. Homeschooling children this close should be interesting as well... I'm excited about that but overwhelmed at the thought too! I can't believe Colton is almost three.... homeschooling is only two years away!!!!!!!! Although... as moms we seem to be schooling them or teaching them something new all the time!
OK... so the only name we have so far is Keira for a girl and no boy name. Sean and I can not agree on hardly anything. Idea's PLEASE! Also, not sure on a middle name yet ...
Keira Nicole King Keira Anne King Keira Grace King
those are just what I've thought of so far....ideas on a middle name would be great too!
We would like a boy name that goes nice with Colton but preferably not starting with a "C".... what I mean I guess is just a western sounding name. We are spending the week in San. F. again while Sean works. He is working a lot of over time this week...they are still working on the Bay Bridge. (the double decker in SF the colapsed from the big earth quake) I need to get home by Thursday though as I'll be house sitting for John and Barbara Gordon over the week end taking care of flowers and dogs :-) We house sit for the Morgans the next week end and then the week end after that we go to Carson City for Sean's Bowling tournament with our friends Adam and Shannon Bishop.
One last thing... the house deal fell through.. but we have someone coming to look at it on Sunday. Please pray that something happens soon. This family is looking to set it up on their parents 10 acres and start taking in foster kids! We'd love to see this happen and be able to help this family out. They already asked if we would take payments and of course we said YES. So, hopefully they like what they see and we can get it moved out of there this month. We really don't want to be doing everything right before we leave. July and August will be super busy as it is.... ughhhh............so much to do. But it will all work out.
OK here I am at 26 1/2 weeks pregnant...YES, I know my butt is huge! I've gained about 17 lbs already and have appx. 14 weeks left.... walking doesn't seem to be helping much. I can't remember what stage I was at when I hit 17 lbs last time.. I'll have to look back at my records. Nothing much new with the pregnancy... baby is moving a ton!!!!! I still can't believe I'm going to have three kids ages 3 years and under. Boy I think I'm busy now, I can't imagine what it's going to be like. But I guess I'll manage. I just hope Carley is an early potty trainer! I don't want two in diapers again. Although last time I only had two in diapers for a few months. Colton was pretty easy. Also, I am really excited because they are both sleeping through the night and bed time has gotten really easy! Thank you Jesus... even if the new baby doesn't sleep well.. at least I can handle ONE! Colton says the new baby is "a boy, like me" or "another Colton like me" I on the other hand don't have much clue... I'm leaning toward a girl but we don't really care of course. It is what it is.. we just can't wait for the surprise! I think I am carrying exactly the same as I did with the other two.
The picture on the bottom is my new hair color I got done yesterday.. you probably can't tell much difference but it was really bronzy before... so I think this looks better... I just got some high lights and low lights. Maybe next time I'll do a little more blonde...what do you guys think?
btw.. please leave comments on the bottom of my post! Thanks!
Two weekends ago we went downt to L.A. to drop off my black Arabian mare Kareemaa. The Lord has been blessing us in the sales of our horses and belongings. On the way home we stopped to show someone our livestock trailer and he was the very first person to even look
and he bought it on the spot. We were able to pay off our loan and get a few grand to boot as well! Praise the Lord for two sales in two days!
While we were in L.A. we spent the night at my Cousin Danielle's house. It was great to catch up and hang out for a bit. We hadn't seen each other since I was pregnant with Carley over a year ago! I didn't get any pictures of us.. just the kids and Sean playing in the yard wearing off energy before heading home on Sunday morning.
As you can see Carley was just chillin' with her ba ba most of the time.... daddy and Colton had fun kicking a little beach ball that Danielle gave him.
The kids and I are home this week while Sean went back to the Bay Area to work on the bay bridge again. We miss him a lot when he's gone... but are having fun hanging out at grandma's house. Tomorrow we plan to go to the city pool if it's not still storming out side!
It's been forever since I wrote and a ton has happened since then. Maybe I can start to keep up better. I guess it's since I got facebook I usually post pictures there. But I can't keep you all updated as well so maybe I'll try this again!~
I'm about 26 weeks pregnant.. my due date isn't for sure. I thought I was due August 17th but my cycles werent real regular yet after nursing. So at 20 weeks I had an ultra-sound and even though it's not always accurate they gave me September 4th as my new due date. The last two babies were one week late and 14 days late... so.. I'm actually hoping the later date is right because Sean is leaving for Basic Combat Training for the Army August 17th and I need time to drive to MN.
I am sure everyone is wondering why we chose to join the army right now, while expecting our third child. So, for those of you wondering... Sean has worked for himself for several years but when business got slow and finances were a struggle he decided to get a job working for a company called CC Meyers. Well...the pay was great! BUT it's been really slow and he's only worked a couple days a week for them and has still been doing side work to try to keep up. Benefits haven't kicked in yet as a result of not enough hours. So we had just been praying about what to do and one day Sean just told me he was thinking about the military because it would be consistent income and a sort of security for the family. We would have full benefits and not have to worry about housing. Also he would like to get some career training that he's had in mind for awhile. He will start out as a mechanic and eventually be a Heavey Equipment Operator. He is also thinking about taking some college courses. I was suprised but thought it was a great idea. The future is very unclear but we are trusting the Lord that he will provide all our needs, as he definitely has in the past! I'm looking forward to being an Army Wife!!! I realize there will be a lot of challenges but it will also be a wonderful adventure.
I plan to go to MN to have this baby so that my mom and sisters can be with me. Since I can't have Sean there I at least want to be with my family. I am still planning a home birth as I've had two very wonderful experiences so far and can't wait to experience it again. I'm actually looking forward to it... even though I will miss Sean terribly! SO.. MOM, have your bath tub ready... water birth.. here we come! OK, I guess I still have three months left... you can wait a little while! ;-)
Colton will be three in August! I can't even believe how fast he is growing. He keeps me company each day.. we actually have some pretty great conversations. He is so smart and asks me questions all the time.. the cutest thing that has happened lately is that... after having told him to look at me when I'm talking to him, or telling him what to do.. he told me the other day that he was mad at daddy. I aske him why are you mad at Daddy? He said "I want to tell him something" and I said.. "what do you want to tell him" ... "I want him to look at me, cause I want to tell him something" I guess Daddy wasn't paying enough attention to what he was trying to say... I dunno.. or he just had to say what Mommy always says. But it was sorta sad and cute at the same time, because he had this look on his face of disappointment. He was so serious!!! anyway... it just suprises me how observent they are at such a young age. Even Carley.. will do things that she's seen us do days before... but I guess all little kids probably do that.. it just amazes me the memory that they have.
Carley is almost 16 months old... Sean says she is pms-ing already! She can be really happy one minute and then blazing mad the next. But she is a doll and really turning into a Daddy's girl lately. She enjoys being outside and running away from us to explore EVERYTHING. She still likes to put icky things in her mouth and for some reason doesn't care what it tastes like! She has to hug and kiss every little kid she sees.. but I guess she gets that from her brother as he is constantly showing her affection and watching out for her. They are quite the team. I see her totally being a little tom boy like her Mommy used to be.. but mostly 'cause she has a big brother I guess.
Well. This got really long.. so I'll try to write again soon. I hope you are all doing well and please feel free to message me, I'd love to hear from everyone. I'll be online all week through friday... so I'll be able to respond right away. The kids and I are spending the week in Vallejo with Sean while he works with CCM. We are enjoying the pool, going for walks and going to the park and also spening the evenings with Daddy.
Keep in touch! Sheila Kae <><
Ps. You can leaven a comment right below my post on this page! :-)
Well, 2008 flew by as fast as it came.... we had our sweet little princess in February 2008 and already around August 17th we'll be welcoming in another member to the King family! We are truely blessed and excited that the Lord is giving us another baby to love and cherish. It came as a bit of a surprise but not really as to how fertile our family seems to be these days. I think by next august there will be 39 grand children and 4 great grand children on my mothers side of the family. UNBELIEVABLE! I think my grandma's need some sort of award! My MOM TOO. This will be her fourth grand baby as my sister Katrice has a little girl Hannah who is the same age as Colton. Colton and Hannah's uncle Walker is only 4 years old~ Practicaly a brother to Hannah. I hear they are really close :-) I really didn't think life could get any more busy... but I guess it's nothing compaired to some families!!!! Which I should know I guess.. but me and my sibling were all two years apart and my kids so far are all going to be exactly 18 months apart.
I'm really excited to have another home birth!!!! My last one went extremely well.... so I am praying that this one goes the same! I haven't lost all my baby fat from Carley so I'm really hoping I can keep control of my weight gain this time. I still had 8 pounds to lose... after Colton it was much easier.. I lost it all except for one pound. So, I am really going to try and eat lots of fruits and veggies and cut back on carbs... breads.. etc... my down fall when I am pregnant is cold cereal.. I crave it all night long!!!! But if I have some fresh fruit maybe that will help.. cause I love that too. But I know too much fruit can be bad too as it has a lot of natural sugars. anyway...
We are really excited... and will keep you posted. So far I feel great... just a little tired at times and the only time I get sick feeling is in the car... driving home late.. on our bumpy road.. ughhhh...
Check back soon.. for updates. I'll be posting more pics of the kids too.. as soon as I get my computer back.
Happy New Year everyone....
Love, Sheila
ps... name ideas would be great.. as we have no idea what we want other than something that sounds nice with Colton and Carley but NOT another "C" name. :-) Either western sounding or... Biblical.
Yes, I made the adorable cake for him! :o) I got a new decorating kit so that I can keep making birthday cakes and keep the tradition going in the family. My mom used to make the best birthday cakes and now Katrice is the one that does most of them. She even made my wedding cake and has done several since then I think! It was beautiful..... I hadn't done one in years!!!! anyway... it was a fun day at the park. Sean brought a football and basket ball and all the dads got to play and have fun too!!! Hmm.. guess I forgot to take pictures of that! Check out my myspace for more pictures. www.myspace.com/seansheila click on the pictures to see them enlarged!
Colton turned 2 years old on August 12th. He is now completely potty trained!!! Yeah!!!! I am so excited as all moms would be.... he only gets a diaper at night. He is also talking more all the time... his first 5 word sentence was "Mommy, I want daddy's truck"!
Carley is sitting up and rolling all over... not crawling yet.. but that's okay.. they keep me busy enough right now.
I'll try to write more soon! Take care and drop me a line!!
I know it's been a lont time since I posted anything..... I am on a friends computer right now so I can't post any pictures but I wanted to let you know that Carley is doing great! She is getting so big... but yet seems so small next to Colton. Sean told me last night that he thinks she'll seem small longer because of Colton... I think he's right.
Colton is doing great with her... I've already given them baths together. He loves her to death and is still giving her kisses and hugs every chance he gets! He is listening better all the time too! I find that the more I stay home and spend time with him the better he is when we go out into public. Should be common sense..... right.... well... I took me some adjusting too. Last night I started working out and he wanted to play (since I was on the floor) so I decided to involve him. I put him on the end table and everytime I did a sit up I tickled him... he thought it was great! Then of course I put him on my legs and did leg lifts with him. We also danced to some Christian music... had a great time and wore me out! Boy was I ready for bed after that. But then I gave Sean a hair cut and took a long shower!!! A great way to end the day!!!! I must say I love being a mom when I get to spend moments like that with my little boy! I find it hard to make time to just play and have fun with him when I am so busy with Carley. But she is a great sleeper... so it's been working out very well. She started sleeping through the night and takes at least one three hour nap during the day... i LOVE it.
Anyway.. Sean has been keeping busy with work. Which has been a great blessing since work was slow all winter.
I went on Craigslist a few weeks ago and found an awesome double jogging stroller for 60.00 from Baby Trend. I love it and have been walking/jogging two to three days a week! I can't wait to lose this baby belly!
I'm going to try and go home to MN and visit my family in June. Please pray that finances will allow that to happen. I really want my family to meet Carley before she gets too much older.
